VICTORIA FALLS

By far the most renowned attraction in the country is the magnificent Victoria Falls, the world’s largest and most spectacular waterfall.   Five separate falls make up this incredible spectacle, with billowing clouds of mist giving rise to the local name – Mosi-oa-Tunya – the “Smoke That Thunders”.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy this phenomenal water experience: bungee- jumping from Vic Falls Bridge, white-water rafting down the Zambezi River, swimming at the edge of the Falls in Devil’s Pool, and zip-lining. For adrenalin- seekers why not take a microlight flight or helicopter ride across the falls?

For a more tranquil appreciation of your surroundings, enjoy an afternoon tea at the colonial Victoria Falls Hotel, or take a sunset cruise along the Zambezi. A visit to The Big Tree, a giant Baobab 16 m in circumference, 20 m high and over 1000 years old, is another attraction.

For shopping, Victoria Falls is an excellent place to purchase local art works and curios.
