SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Samburu National Park derives its name from the colourful Samburu people and is located 5 hours’ drive or a quick 45-minute flight from Nairobi.

The harsh, arid environment attracts rare adapted wildlife such as the reticulated giraffe, Gevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Somali ostrich and Beisa Oryx.

The Ewaso Nyiro River is the lifeblood of this desolate environment, and not only draws a rich diverse birdlife but also healthy herds of elephant and lion.

For those looking for a fun-filled alternative to the traditional game-viewing experience, why not be adventurous and ride a camel through the African wilderness? After all this is what the Samburu do!
