It is world-renowned, as are several of the private reserves on its western boundary. Many of these neighbouring private reserves have removed their fences to allow game to roam freely.

Because of the diverse landscape, this area offers “Big 5” game-viewing (rhino, leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant) as well as excellent bird-sighting (Kingfisher, vulture, eagle to name a few). Giraffe, zebra, kudu and hippo are seen regularly. It is also home to a rich history of nearly 254 cultural heritage sites including rock art.

Enjoy a safari on horseback, bicycle or on foot, and enjoy night drives in a 4×4 vehicle. Visit the Nyani cultural village for an insight into the Shangaan people, or float in a hot-air balloon to take in the spectacular scenery.
